Panchakarma, known as the 'Five Great Procedures,' serves as a potent approach for holistic healing, detoxification, and rejuvenation of both the mind and body. These procedures include Vamanam (Emesis), a cleansing induced vomiting method targeting 'Kapha' dosha-related issues; Virechanam (Laxation), inducing laxation for purification in 'Pita' vitiated diseases; Vasti (Medicated Enema), administering Vata-alleviating medicine to the large intestine crucial for 'Vata' diseases; Nasyam (Nasal Medication), effectively treating respiratory and neurological problems; and Raktha Mokshanam (Bloodletting), employing various methods for conditions like skin ailments, arthritis, and non-healing ulcers. To ensure efficacy, Panchakarma should be preceded by proper body and mind preparation through pre-procedures, which are categorized into two stages.
